Back in the 1980's Better Homes and Gardens published a pattern for a Coyote in one of their issues of the said magazine. Mom fell in love with the Coyote and asked me to make it for her, which I did. I copied the pattern from the magazine...the pattern was charted and was supposed to be on one inch square paper only I did it on two inch square paper. So instead of the coyote turning out to be only 3 feet tall he turned out to be 6 foot tall. Mom loved that coyote (come to think of it so did I, as did all the cats as he was a wonderfully soft and warm place to sleep plus he was a great protector for the cats!) and, unfortunately not only did he end up destroyed in the fire but so did the pattern. Does anyone out there happen to have that issue of "Better Homes and Gardens"? Or at least the pattern? I would love to find that particular pattern so I can create another "Herbert" (That's what Mom named the coyote. ) to honor Mom's memory and bring some comfort back to my life. I've tried Ebay and also Amazon and also wrote to the magazine to see if they still had the magazine in their archives. I haven't heard a word from the magazine and didn't have much luck with Ebay or Amazon. Can you help me please????? Thank you in advance.

was it an actual stuffed animal or was it a quilt? I found this, but I am not sure if it's in this... Try etsy, they have a lot of vintage type patterns available. or this: https://www.ebay.com/b/Better-Homes-Gardens-Magazines-1980-1999/280/bn_42419996 I am going to edit thsi post with yet another link in a second. this third link might be the ticket. It's an archive of all of BH&G's magazines https://archive.bhg.com/browse/

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!! I'm going to check the sources you've posted, there is no telling where I may find the pattern! The pattern is for a stuffed animal. It was hysterical when I made the first one for my Mom for Christmas. When I wrapped it I accidentally wrapped my cat in the package between the Coyote's legs. The cat slept there all night long!!! She didn't utter a peep or try to claw her way out of the package. Of course the biggest package was the first package Mom opened that morning (I wrapped the coyote Christmas eve late) and she about jumped out of her skin when a little Siamese head popped out from between the coyote's legs that morning with a huge yawn and a little yawn following and a meow of greeting. We both had a great laugh at the cat when she stood up, stretched and sauntered off to use the litter box and get a bite of breakfast. Herbert was Fat Cat's favorite place to nap after that. We had him sitting in one of the recliners with his hands in his lap which made a perfect nest for the cat to sleep in all day long if she wanted to
