Folding a Fitted Sheet

For awhile I tried figuring out how to neatly fold a fitted sheet. The other sheet and pillow cases are easy peasy. But apparently my arms are not long enough to fold the fitted sheet. So one day I realized what difference does it make? Life is too short for such frustrations that do not matter. By the way, there are actual YouTube videos showing you how to fold the sheet. Nope, I am done with folding. Is the world going to end if I don't fold it a certain way? Nope. So the picture above is what I do now. I do not fold the fitted sheet. I wash it, dry it, then put it on the bed. Period. Done. What say you?

Haha I have a few spare sheet sets ( with kids, I think its required!). I saw the video too and it helps! . I do a version of that. I figure as long as it sits on a shelf til needed, its fine being a partial folded and partial clump!

@CarolDM My grandmother could fold them sooo perfectly. Its like how in the world is it fair a blind woman can make a huge stack of sheets look perfect?!?! She did work for a brief time in a hotel, so I'm guessing she got a lot of practice and training! I'm fine with my towels are folded right!

I know, it is so frustrating to me, I like it to be neat, not perfect, but neat. There is no neat to the fitted sheet.

Ditto on everything you said! I don't even bother trying to fold the fitted sheets. Not worth the aggravation.

Those fitted sheets are hard to gold. We had a couple and I did what you do

I tried to fold them too, but it is such a pain! I like your way, of just putting them on the bed once they are dry!

@CarolDM Definitely agree, especially if they are just going to be put back on the bed!

I put mine on the bed right away as well, although I do have some stored in an attractive container for later use.

lol Unfortunately I usually make the bed with another pair of sheets so I need to at least attempt to fold the fitted sheet. But it is a good idea.

Me too but after years of frustration I finally started just putting it back on the bed right out of the dryer. No folding required.

I keep mine in a drawer out of sight. Easy to spot the fitted one when I need it.

i would fold the corners of the fitted sheet as if fitting it in the bed, and then fold it in half, in quarter, until it is already small in size. hmm, i cannot explain it in words, but i hope you can visualize what i mean.

I know, but it should lay flat like the other one.
