25 days of black & white Christmas

Last winter, I participated in a few photo challenges as a way to help me combat seasonal depression and holiday stress. I think I'm going to do that again this year. I don't know of any "official" ones going on right now, so I'm mostly just doing this for myself. If any of you decide you'd also like to do this, I'd love to see your pictures. This one is actually from last year, I haven't taken today's photo yet. It's a snowglobe that I bought for myself during a 90% off after-Christmas sale (it was only $3!). I really liked both the birch bark design around the bottom. It's been pointed out to me recently that I tend to collect things with stags or deer, so that's probably another reason why I was drawn to this.

Is the photo challenge for black and white photos only? Why not colorful photos if it's to fight depression?

I have more of an explanation in my more recent post.

I find that at this time of the year one can see color whether it is there or not and, sorry I really don't understand the effects of depression but I would think color would 'brighten' someone's outlook or am I all wrong?

That is a lovely snow globe love the deer. Christmas will once again be tough for me too so to help me out with no snow in Florida and missing my hometown NYC I got a snowglobe with a NYC scene.

I don't get any snow either, and I'm really missing it right now. One thing about the black and white pictures is it disguises the fact that there isn't any snow (a little bit).

It looks lovely. I think taking photos of moments and parts of Christmas that you would normally not take pictures of can make for some beautiful memories.
