Accepting Change: Timeless Wisdom sustains us

Everyone goes through the ups and downs in life though, for the very few, life is like a straight line as they manage to ride out tough times as part and parcel of life.
I find solace in trying times with “this too shall pass” and “Time Heals”. I share them when others lament about their misfortunes.
Change is the only constant and our physical body is susceptible to it. It blooms and fades, has to be discarded and merges with nature in the end. We have to accept the natural path that spares none.
What we can manage is the way we accept the never-ending change and adapt. We are not the body but something deeper sits inside us. And that matters in the end.
We cannot prevent a knockout blow at the end of the day and accepting the inevitable lessens the impact on our soul!
How do you face the vicissitudes of life?

I keep telling whoever crosses my path that it is not how much one has but what one does with what one has is the route to happiness. I follow this norm and so there is always a spring in my step

@allknowing That drove home the point loud and clear. You felt the blessings right through the toughest period. The right attitude to ride the roughest moments in life.
I had to rush my mum to the hospital on a touch and go health issue whether she would survive as her heart was failing. I looked at the positive side and saw life from another angle with the doctor and nurses ever encouraging that she will turn the corner.
A misstep is all it takes in life to take us down. However, I find there is more kindness and empathy when money does not dictate our motives. I have felt blessed during the toughest of times even when all doors closed on me - siva

What helps me are my beliefs that one day there will be a better life and a better world where I can spend eternity. This hope helps me to adapt and to endure until I get there. Each day taht passes is one day closer to that glorious life.

@Shiva49 I like to draw my strength from God and so I hope that when things weaken me that He will be there to give me strength and courage.

Thanks for your encouragement.
That is what it looks like is meant to be. Let us make our exit seamless!
The body decays over time but our inner self need not and should be set free when it is our time to leave this shore.
Let us just go with the flow with heads held high after doing our best here - siva

I have never liked change. I prefer to chase the timeless wisdom instead.
Why do we need change, tests, etc, given we will go to Heaven, does change happen there too?
What is the point of change?
Does anyone, including God, know what the final change will turn us into?
Is there a final change, or is change the only constant, going on for eternity, as they say?
I think that life itself is never about the change, which is merely cosmetic.
Life is about how we handle the perceived changes going on, and if we ever realise that these changes are merely waves moving on an ocean, which itself never changes.
The ocean only changes those in it, around it, or affected by it. The ocean itself never changes. Fundamentally, it always stays the same.
We need to stay immersed in the ocean, and so realise within the ocean, that the ocean itself never does change. Nothing outside of the ocean really exists.
God is the ocean. God never changes, and really, neither do we. It is all an illusion, this change, though a pretty good one to be sure.
And yet, there is a paradox working here too.
Each wave has been a different state of the ocean being experienced by it. There are infinite stages. These cosmetic rearrangements are what we mistake as being change. Maybe they are.
They must achieve some type of a purpose for God. God likes to flex his muscles then and move through different costumes in his wardrobe it seems, perhaps because he became bored in his eternity of no-time, or timelessness.
The changeless God embraced change then, but sadly to only find himself still unchanged.
Changes changes nothing.

God makes waves in his ocean, but he always remains unchanged by this, so do we too, or do we?

@Shiva49 That's a good rejoinder and good answers to all my questions too.
Yes, when we need to be shaken up a bit, that's when we get hit with a slightly heavier wave. We need to all become better surfers, I guess, to handle what God throws at us...LOL...

@innertalks Thanks, Steve. God spares none; he knows how to clip our wings.
Everyone has to leave everything here; so those who have nothing can leave at a moment's notice. The poor can walk right through the green channel! siva

Thanks, Steve, maybe God wants us tossed around in the rough sea of life so that we seek his help, keep him in our heart all the time! Otherwise, we tend to get carried away and take things for granted. He has implanted the "fear of God" within us to keep us under his leash! Okay, it is more of love connection.
The decay of physical body has a sobering effect and some fight against it tooth and nail but I want to age gracefully, okay, grin and bear it and not bare my teeth at the unjustness of it!
If the soul is permanent, God can keep us under his thumb forever and that is a sobering thought. Yes, we have to wise up, trust and hope God is always fair but his boundless love should not be taken for granted that all will be forgiven.
It is also said while body and mind are ever changing our soul does not. The seas and mountains do change over a longer period. There are wheels within wheels in the creation and the more we try to unravel its mystery, the more complicated becomes the puzzle - siva
