Good morning, dear lotters. Climate change and other changes.

Another week is starting. It is warm, almost hot, here and the day is just beginning. I have read that we are going to have a very hot summer this year. The climate has changed a lot and we, the people, are only doing minor changes.. Where I live, they don´t give plastic bags any longer at supermarkets. But in those same supermarkets they sell Coca Cola and other beverages in giant strong plastic bottles. When I was a child, these same beverages came in reciclable glass bottles. But that was the same time when diapers were made of reciclable fabric. I remember I extra boiled the diapers that my first daughter had used so that my second daughter could have them. Now everything is disposable. Even people. We can see it in the violence, in the undernourished people (while other people are obese), in the lack of care for others. I wish I could open my eyes only to good thoughts to share. The sun shines. It is beautiful. But what are we doing to keep the planet for our children? See you

You are so right, we should stop producing materials that pollute and go back to the older times. I remember when we had to bring back glass bottles, I remember when my mom washed diapers. Nobody used disposable napkins, we washed. We are destroying our planet.

@marguicha It would be easy with more serious laws.

On the other hand, some of the "older times" practices were behind the problems we now face. Take the use of coal for example. This powered the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain, but shoved vast quantities of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Some countries are very reluctant to take coal burning out of the equation.

Now, with the new machines, part of the job could be done easily.

Complete agreement from me! Not all that far from you - in Argentina - 20 world leaders met last week to agree on various texts, including one on climate change. However, only 19 signed this particular document - no guessing who the missing signature belonged to!

That is a complete shame. I still don´t know why Americans let Trump represent them.

Things have changed now and everyone is just thinking of making their lives easier without caring for the environment. I wish everyone would be mindful

People of my generation have done much to mess up the planet. I work with a lot of 18 -24 year olds and I do believe they will do a better job moving forward . Even when it comes to politics , its nice to see young people demanding change . Not sure what the situation with young people in regard to the environment is in your country but here it shows promise

I think that was is done is not important because youngsters don´t have the power to change things. When the Coca Cola company starts using glass bottles again, I will believe.

That is also true of the UK, where young people are very conscious of the mess that they see around them - plastic on beaches, for example - and are very keen on doing what they can to put things right.

We have to keep pushing for action!! Returning to the cloth diapers would be a big start!! The more people we can get to make changes the better!! Write letters to coca cola to tell them stop all the plastic bottles and make sure we recycle them!!!

I think that a better way would be to stop drinking Coca Cola.

@db20747 I quit smoking after over 50 years. You have to find a strong motive to quit your addiction.
