Google is Offering TV on YouTube. Have You Tried OR Will You Try It?

The other day when I was on YouTube, a banner popped up offering TV channels and said it was Free to Try. “Free to Try” translates into “If you like it you'll have to pay for it." I have a sad TV story. First, the apartments we moved into have a cable TV service that sucks! So we don't have cable TV. I figured that was OK because my son bought us a digital converter box and we could still watch local TV channels. But the box broke! That left us at the mercy of whatever we could find on YouTube. Surfing YouTube for current news reports is not fun! I liked it much better when all I had to do was turn on the TV at a certain time of the day and watch the local news and then maybe a world news report. But the sad story has a happy ending. So that's good news! We received an early Christmas gift from one of my sons. It's a flat screen TV that doesn't need a digital converter box and we can get local channels again. YAY! So I'm going to pass of the Google YT offer. But what about you? Do you use or plan to subscribe to the Google YouTube TV service?
Here's a side-by-side comparison of the channel lineups for YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV, DirecTV Now, PlayStation Vue and more!

Not only do we have Netflix but I have stumbled across some websites that stream free movies and TV shows and have found some entertainment that's not on Netflix. I love Netflix. But sometimes they just don't satisfy my needs.

@Hannihar - This is what I do and I know it's really stupid but I rewatch series that I've already watched, Even though there are new shows that I would like to watch and I put them in my list, I'll still rewatch Merlin or Midsomer Murders, etc. I think it's because since I've already seen the episodes, I don't have to work my brain too hard to keep up with the plot. I tend to watch Netflix late at night just to make my eye weary so I can go to sleep. My husband and I recently binge-watched "Designated Survivor". Have you seen that show? It's pretty good!

It was certainly a surprise gift. My son went shopping for Black Friday sales on a Thursday! That's Thanksgiving Day. Some stores had already started opening their doors and people had eaten their turkey dinner and came out to shop! Can you believe it? I've never gone shopping for anything on a holiday! There are some things I am just not flexible with. Shopping on a holiday is one of them. I feel like stores shouldn't even be open! Every time I see a store open I think "Mean boss! Mean boss!"

No, we won't be using that service. A TV that does not need a box and actually gets channels sounds nice.

I have an antenna for TV, plus I have basic Hulu and Netflix. I also watch free stuff on YouTube, but I have thought about trying the paid service. Do you know how much it costs?
