Had to run out a bit

While we were gone last night the doctor called for Bob. His cultures for his UTI came back. The lab indicated he should have a stronger antibiotic. We picked up the prescription and ran to McPherson. I took my next library book with me. Bob checked in the books we had finished and picked up the one the library had on reserve for him. I started "Dangerous Alterations". It is large print, so it is easy to read and I am enjoying it. Besides getting the prescription, and some books, we had an ignition problem. There has been a recall on our car ignition. Bob has resisted going in for it, but we did today. It did not fix the whole problem, but it is nice to have it done. I also ran into Wal Mart and got things I had forgotten last night. I am home to read and to work. He is going to go check on getting a new ignition for the Impala in yet another town. Or something. Me, I will be on the computer, or reading or sewing, or cleaning or all of the above. It gave me a late start, but that is okay.

I have read two books this week. Usually I just read newspapers and magazines because the articles are short.

@GardenGerty I also like reading newspapers and magazines especially where they talk about real life.

Time sneaks in there and surprises you. You have probably been busier than I have.

The ignition is what we think is wrong with our car, ugh. Glad you went and got yours fixed.

There was a recall on the key...and I am pretty sure that is what has caused the rest of the wear and tear. Hubby bought a new ignition for $15 at a parts store, then could not finish the job. The dealership charged us $50, and I thought that was reasonable.

@GardenGerty $50 is not bad, for a car repair, I think. I hope its not too much for us to get ours fixed, if it is our issue. we have a 9am appointment tomorrow to find out.

Multitasking is a hard habit to break, but it actually is not healthy or very productive.

Today seems to be a busy day for many here. I also got a late start. It sounds like you have accomplished a great deal today. You deserve a rest.

Ahhh, it is supposed to rain today, so I am going to be in my work area sewing bears and getting them ready to go to the shop tomorrow. I love sewing when it rains. I always have, it seems like they go together like peanut butter and jelly. I may go through the recyclables and get the ones that I get paid for sorted out of the bags of the ones that I don't get paid for. Then we can take the recyclables that we don't get money for in tomorrow and drop them in the recycle bins around town. (we don't have garbage pickup where I live). That will get a huge bag of recyclables out of my room which will give me room to move in it. Since it is supposed to rain the rest of the week I plan to sew the rest of the week and work on teddy bears the rest of the week. It will also give my back a break. I'm going to post about that next. ("Oh my aching back") But I am kind of looking forward to tomorrow because I have packages coming in. Stuff for my booth space (Steiff animals that I won the bidding on Ebay) and stuffing for the miniature bears that I am making for the booth. I tried Kapok and it works wonderfully for the small bears (5 inches and under...some are under 3 inches) so I ordered a 10 pound bale of it. It should be in the box today. There are a couple of things I need to pick up at Wal Mart and that should do it for the trip to town. My books are read on my Kindles. I get the free books from Amazon and down load them onto my Kindles. Then when I'm finished I delete them. We also have a library for the neighborhood so I can go down there and go through the books and borrow any that catch my eye. We have close to three thousand books down there. My biggest problem is I read just before I go to sleep and I have a bad habit of reading until I finish the book. Sometimes I don't turn off the Kindle and turn out the light until 4 or 5 in the morning. So I limit the amount of reading I do. This evening we have left over turkey thighs. I had bought two packages of them a couple of weeks ago so I thawed them yesterday and we had some last night and I figure to do a repeat of the gravy and turkey on mashed potatoes...it was really yummy and Bill had three helpings each time it was served. That's really good for him because he really limits the amount of food he eats. His evening meal is a piece of meat about 2 inches by 2 inches, a tiny salad that fits in a nut cup that it 2 inches in diameter by 3 inches deep, a cup of diced peaches (Del Monte) and some cheese. He is close to 6 feet tall and weighs in at 138 pounds. So if he has more helpings of any of the food I feel like it is a successful night. Anyhow, off to do my discussion and then throw on some clothes and get to work. There is a bear waiting to be hand sewn (the bears five inches and under have to be sewn by hand, sewing them on a sewing machine would be nearly impossible. That's why if you see a miniature bear in the store they usually are really expensive. I've seen them for over $100.00 and more. Unless they come from South East Asia where they work for much less money and you can find the mass manufactured bears for under $10, but they aren't worth carrying home!). Anyhow, then I'll have a quick bite to eat for breakfast, feed Petey and get to work on the bears. So off to get dressed and work. Have a great day!

Why does Bill limit his food? Bob has lost down to around 140 and he is six two or so. It is scary. I love picturing you all cozy and sewing.

@GardenGerty Bill had gained some weight and I guess the doctors got after him...so now he limits his intake, except when I cook something really good like stew or turkey and gravy over mashed potatoes. Then he pigs out. Last night was cute because we ate out and he ate a hamburger, fries, a salad and two cokes. Then I had him sample the cheese cake (another one of my weaknesses) and he had to have some...on the way home he groaned that he ate too much! LOL. We still had take home boxes. I'll be cozy and sewing for a few days while my back and legs recover from work. I'm not too used to standing and walking for 3.5 straight hours. We were busy yesterday so I didn't get any chance to sit. I also have four bears and a Yorkie to work on and get finished for special orders.
