I was on Pintrest one day and saw how people had been making these Christmas trees out of wood. I really liked the idea of being able to decorate differently every year instead of the same old thing so I asked my husband if he could build me one from the picture.
It took him about 3 days to build me the tree and I decorated it, this is our finished project. This year I added a few of my Mickey items that I could get from a bin and I have also added butterflies to it in honor of my sons and a few others who have left us. There is also a hummingbird in here in honor of my mother in law.
Can you find all the butterflies and the hummingbird?? Do you like doing these projects?

I just love this idea. 
There are so many possibilities, like you say, about honouring people and memories.
And wouldn't it make a great sharing tree for the workplace when collecting toys for children or even can goods?
And I'm thinking that if the sides were hinged it could potentially fold flat for storage.

oh i used to do so many. can no longer. i miss it. i love your tree. once i cut one out of green wrapping paper. taped it to the wall and decorated it. wish i still had that photo

@mom210 More good days is a start, I hope you continue on that path. I got a hummingbird feeder with tubes that you hold and the hummingbirds will sit on your fingers as they eat. It says you can train them to eat from the tube while you hold it. I can't wait for spring to come so I can try it out.

@FayeHazel Yes, I bought new garland for next year, my grand daughter wants to do an "oceany scene" next year she said so we got ocean blue garland with silver in it. I think there will still be a few Mickeys in there but we won't tell her lol

That is such a great idea and what a beautiful treeYou all are talented.
I am no good with my hands at crafting but all the craft posts make me want to try

I love making things, how do you know your not, have you tried. I started with something simple at first and move to harder things.
The bird is a little hard to see, it is at the top on the left, he blends with the garland but if you look at the top shelf you can see his wing over the garland

@ThreeTeddies Oh good, tell her she can also change the garland every year and decorate totally different each time. Next year our garland will be silver with blue through it with a whole new scene
