I had heard the music as a child and I do remember when I was around age 10 seeing a play/musical live at our local play house. I saw it with my family during the Christmas Season. The music is timeless.

Did you know that you can listen to the entire thing for free on Youtube? Not quite as impressive as a live performance, but still pretty good.
