Waiting for parcels

I’ve been reading about people waiting on packages to arrive in the mail and now it’s happening to me. I am expecting two parcels any day. One is a book I’ve ordered for my sister and the other is a gift to myself.
Most of us are aware that we have several published authors in our midst and I’ve just purchased myLotter Rachel Lovejoy’s (@RaeLove) From the Urban Wilderness.
I’ve always enjoyed her discussions here and having read the Amazon blurb (isn’t that a great word?) for the book, I decided I’d treat myself. The postage cost nearly as much as the book but I’m sure it will be worth it. So here I am anxiously waiting for my parcels to arrive.
The photo is one of the quirky letter-boxes we saw in Tasmania.

@judyev I’ve just sorted out a tussel with Amazon about two books I ordered, but the parcel just contained two pink balls. They told me to keep the balls and they’d send replacement books. Only one book arrived and their online system said it would send a replacement when I returned the book I had not received. At last I got to speak to a human who sorted it all for me and is sending my missing book - if all goes well.

Good luck with that. You'd have had a bit of trouble returning the book you didn't receive!

@JudyEv Not really. I shipped all my designer handbags, shoes, and clothes. I'd hate to lose them. I am carrying a small bag down with some of my newest items, so I will have something nice to wear in case my other boxes go missing forever.

That is a very funny mailbox which you saw in Tasmania. I know a house that has a front garden full of model lemurs. They have security cameras to make sure nobody goes off with them. I cycle pass it when I go into town on my bike you see. I took advantage of Black Friday Sales. I bought an American Fridge Freezer with a water dispenser. It was delivered within a four hour range which fitted in perfectly with school pick up time. I also bought three items of furniture from Ikea. I knew the latest it would arrive would be 16.30 and I needed to pick up my son from school. I asked my sister if she could please cover my place during my school pick up of my son. She came over and exactly at that moment a lorry arrived. Loads of boxes were carried in. I had to rush off to the school. Now my sister's husband has kindly built two of the flat packs.

We bought new bedroom wardrobes from Ikea and built them ourselves. We are really pleased with them. They look really nice.

Interesting mail box,,there are some around here that look like large mouth bass. Of course then there are the packages you aren't expecting like the one that was delivered this morning. I thought it might have been a Christmas gift, from someone but it was a package for roomie.

I have one due maybe tomorrow, the tracking says an unexpected delay has happened. There is no mail here today so I know what the delay is.

It's probably pretty unique as far as letter-boxes go.

I love the Doctor Who theme here, but of course I am a Doctor Who fan big time. Although I still like the original series better than the new stuff. Either way. As for our fellow authors here, anything we can do to support the work they do, and many of them are FANTASTIC writers, I am definitely on board with that.

People had been sending earlier to avoid the Christmas rush, unknowingly creating another kind of traffic
