I am so bad about telling people what I got them or giving them hints. I can't help it! I nearly gave my friend a hint that the item I got them was a consumable. I restrained myself though, and that's why I've come here to tell you. You guys won't tell her what I got her, will you? Of course, you don't know who she is! I got another friend a coffee mug. I still need to buy two or three more presents. The dry seasonings and barbecue sauces were bought through etsy. I know some people aren't comfortable with buying foods online, and especially from people you don't know personally. What is the weirdest gift you've received? What's the weirdest gift you've given?

Not sure I have given any weird gifts, but last year or the year before I gave my friend a mug that was shaped like a camera extension lens. He never uses it either..and I thought it was so cool..

aw poo! I know how you feel. I gave a friend a candle a few years ago that she never uses, the same with a set of coasters. Of course the coasters were more flimsy than they appeared in the listing online. THe camera lens mug sounds cool!

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yeah, I mean he could pretend to like it for my benefit.. That is frustrating when the stuff you buy online, doesn't live up to expectations, especially if it is for a gift.

@snowy22315 Yes, it doesn't hurt anybody to act as if it was a great gift, even if the recepient doesn't really think so. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I have ordered some barbecue sauces and some seasonings from an etsy store. I am hoping my friend will really like them.

I try to give based on something they might need or might use. Too often gifts are given and then just put in a drawer somewhere. I'm being good. Atleast I don't have to wait until the 25th. We're doing our Friends-mas on the 23rd this year.

I think i would have kind of loved that, to be honest. Though I'm not sure I'd ever use it, I'd kind of love that.

@ScribbledAdNauseum it was awesome. It was also years ago so I don't have it anymore. The other half made me a wooden TARDIS this year for my birthday and a computer desk.

The BBQ sauces I ordered on the 5th? I've had no contact with them. The other two have already been shipped out. if I don't hear anything by tomorrow then I am going to have to contact them. If I don't hear anything by the 10th? I'll have to request my money back and try something else. Just frustrating.

@Courage7 Me too! I don't mess with a store if I haven't seen a review recently and if the review isn't good. The last review was in November, but I still thought "okay that's recent enough." We shall see.

Received - handkerchiefs. Proper old lady embroidered handkerchiefs. Not really weird but also not really something you give a twenty-something year old.

That sounds like something a great grandmother would give their grandchildren. It also seems like a wedding favor like the "something old / new and something borrowed, something blue. It's something I would appreciate more now that I am in my 30's but as a 20 something? Nah, I'd have put it in a drawer somehere and forgotten about it.
