MyLot Exclusive #91 This is the third day of Hanukkah and that means that just as I have every year since I started this Blog in 1934, I am playing The Hanukkah Song. Before I go on, I should answer the questions all my new readers ask every year. "How could you write a Blog in 1934," and, "How could you play a song in 1934 that wasn't written until 1994?" Then, some of them add, "Sir, I don't think you're being entirely truthful." Kids are funny like that. Inquisitive and mistrustful all at the same time. But they are easily set straight. A simple 60 year trip to the future in my Time Machine gave me The Hanukkah Song. As for the second question, well, printing and distributing the Blog was a little less simple in those days. Writing it was the easy part. It just involved, as it still does, a couple of weeks of research for each post and then 8 to ten 10 hours of actual writing time plus a couple of hours of editing. Then came the challenging part. In 1934, I had to print 2,000,000,000 copies every day and then personally deliver them to every person on Earth---The next time you feel sorry for Santa, remember, he only does it once a year and I used to do it EVERY DAY! You should send the hot chocolate and cookies you were going to leave out for him to me!---Every year the number just kept going up and to be honest, I thought about just giving up on the whole thing more than once. But then, in 1989, Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web and the next year, the first web browser was created and then in 1997, the first Blog site started and since then, I've had lots of extra free time. This is living proof that it pays to not quit because things do get better. Good things come out of persistence! Where would we be today if the Maccabees had given up? I don't know! But I am fairly certain we wouldn't be playing The Hanukkah Song! You just think about that the next time you think about giving up! And now, for further encouragement, here is Adam Sandler. @TheHorse I'm pretty tolerant. You'd probably be surprised at what I find perfectly fine.

@xander6464 How tolerant are you of "vulgarity"? There are some other Hanukkah posts that are pretty funny.

I will blame it on the fact that I'm tired that I can't think of anything more meaningful to add than the fact that I just saw the "Wedding Singer" movie again lol

I'm glad that you got to watch a movie. I thought you would be too busy for that. Things seem to be going OK.
