This holiday season in one word could be considered as amazing. An anonymous person who does not want to be identified purchased all of the layaway items at a Wal Mart near Philadelphia. The bill paid for the layaway items at the Kennent Square Pennsylvania was around $29,000 dollars. What is means is that every customer who had items in the layaway section of this Wal-Mart can pick up their purchases for free thanks to the Secret Santa who may or may not have been a Secret Santa that paid the layaway items in Maine.

It is a huge weight off of the shoulders of the customers who had their items on layaway.

Doing good deeds and keeping quiet about it gets you more blessings from Above.

Awesome thing to do for others. On the flip side, however, I wonder why this sort of thing isn't done throughout the year? Why is it always at xmas time?

I have always wondered why good deeds like these stories only occur around the Christmas season.

@Deepizzaguy I spent the day, yesterday, dreaming about how to start a year-round Giving Tree sort of "thing". A place where people with genuine needs could come in and fill out a request and then that request could be anonymously put up on a board (or fake tree or something) to be fulfilled by someone who feels led to help. Vacuum broke and you can't afford a new one? Mr. X might decide to donate one that works or buy a brand new one for you. Need a load of wood? Mrs. Z is willing to give you a 1/2 a cord. Little Johnny needs school supplies or a pair of shoes? The Smiths got ya covered! I kept thinking of all the stuff that gets donated to Goodwill, etc. and how many of those items could be given to people in real need, rather than dumped on a company that'll only profit off it. My mind was rolling with ideas but it always came back to money. Not that I'd want to make money off something like that but the upkeep costs on renting a room in the mall (or somewhere) would need to be covered.
