Today is the first day I have been able to walk without pains and a cane. For some unknown reason my back was in such pain and I could not even walk for over a week.
The doctor said it was bad back spasms. When I tried to walk it was like a knife was pushed in my back and very painful. It was so bad that my son came down to visit us from New Jersey.
I never felt anything like it before, even after having two children. I had things hurting that I didn't even know I had in my body. Even though I was able to walk without the cane today I took it with me just in case.
It was very scary as whenever I just moved my arms the back would hurt. I couldn't get comfortable whenever I moved my arms or legs.
I hope I never experience that again. I am bringing my folding cane with me on vacation next week.

At least you could walk now without an aid, I think its a good sign of improving and healing, do they plan to do further tests?

I have experienced that pain Nancy. It is excruciating as your muscles lock up to protect your spine. I had to lie down immediately, but it was worse as I could not get off the floor. I was diagnosed with a congenital back condition and now always try to be careful with lifting things. Bad backs are very painful fortunately with rest, ice and mild manipulation the condition improves. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

An x ray or an ultrasound could perhaps show you what the problem is Happy that you managed to walk. Complete bed rest helps too.

I never heard of PAD but I will look it up now that we are home. I don't want any more problems with it.
