Spiritual Energy. What is that?? Is it real??

When are such practices really serving you? When they serve God in you, through you!

I have heard it said by many New Age practitioners that we can raise energy, gather it together, inside of us, and release it to do our bidding, directing it through our intent of action, that we want to take. It is claimed that when you do this, you are sending out your power. Are they talking about spiritual energy then, or perhaps, it is some other type of energy that they are referring to here? I have heard it called, "magic power", for example, which forebodes more of it really being "black magic power" to me. Spiritual energy is God’s energy of love, flowing through everything, and even through you. You breathe this in and out, but it also goes in and out from your thoughts, from your emotional energy, and from your heart energy too. Spiritual energy is not to be directed for your own use, because it is given to you as a privileged tool, for you to be able to best live your life in the service of God, serving his will, obeying his laws, in short, loving all, as best you can do, right now, with God's help. I would say that kindness and compassionate understanding of others spreads throughout the whole world, for such energy of positiveness attracts the same, and also helps to overcome negative energy too. This is not really energy in the strictest sense. It's more an attitudinal drifting of your thoughts towards either being supportive or destructive thoughts, and so the energy in you follows the thought, if you allow it to do so, and so you then feel this way emotionally too, i.e uplifted and enthusiastic, rather than downtrodden, and depressed. As to supernatural, as Einstein said there are two ways to see the world, as supernatural, or as natural. (Albert Einstein said, 'There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is.'”) I guess it's up to us to decide which view best benefits our own lives.

@innertalks The Bible does speak about holy spirit and the fruitage of the spirit which helps us to have a Christian personality filled with qualities that make us suitable to do God's will. I have no special powers or abilities and I am not expecting to have any.

@innertalks Well said. In a sense, we all live forever, in that we affect others, both in our attitude and our words. Mark Twain is very much alive in the hearts and minds of those who read his writing. It's true at a more personal level with those around us as well.

There is spiritual energy within us. Latent in all of us. Some people develop it and use it for God's work while some try to put it to selfish use.

Nicely put. I agree with you there. We have firstly the outerness of the physical body, drawing its own energy needs from the foods we eat, the air we breathe, etc etc, but the inner dwelling soul feeds off the spiritual energy of God, placed in it upon its creation. When we connect to our soul and to God's greater purpose for our lives, this spiritual energy flows forth from our souls into our human body, and is to be used in the glorification of God, or in obeying his will, and fulfilling his works for him as he directs, or guides, us to do.

I have met thousands of people in my life but have never seen or met anyone that had any special spiritual energy or ability. I have met some very nice people that had a love for God and showed godly kindness.

@innertalks It would be very helpful if there were some similar people today but I haven't met anyone like Jesus yet. If anyone shows up, send them here as there are so any that would like to be healed.

@1hopefulman There are reports that some Saints since Jesus's time have been able to heal people, but nothing directly linkable to direct healings like with Jesus are forthcoming. It's mostly only all hearsay evidence, nothing definite.

I probably haven't either, (ever met such people). But I have been involved in groups who claimed to be able to create such energy. While in the group, I thought that I could feel this at times too. It seemed to be real, but who can ever really know the truth of any of this. Jesus certainly had some type of a spiritual power though. Luke, chapter 8, verses 44 to 46, hints at this: The Healing Touch of Jesus …She came up behind Jesus and touched the fringe of His cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. “Who touched Me?” Jesus asked. But they all denied it. “Master,” said Peter, “the people are crowding and pressing against You.” But Jesus declared, “Someone touched Me, for I know that power has gone out from Me.”…

I have also heard of divine energy that connects us with one and all including everything - the seen and unseen. That is the life-giving force. Mindful living can connect us with spiritual energy It is being more aware/awake/conscious of the present, what is going on both inside and outside us, than getting lost in the past and future. The beauty of possessing and accessing spiritual energy is we cannot misuse it as once selfishness creeps in, we lose it. Some are charlatans out to hoodwink the gullible. Everything should be directed towards helping society. God is love and he is the ultimate savior but it helps when we also chip in positively - siva

That's very well put Shiva. Yes, we lose our contact with God's love when we step away into our own selfish ways, instead of going in God's way. Not entirely though, I think. Can we ever really entirely ever lose all contact with spiritual energy like that? What was built by God to contain and utilise his spiritual energy and his spirit can never be taken away from anyone, but it can be overplayed over, so that then we no longer hear God's voice, only our own, and so we distance our self from God when we listen only to our self, and not to God, in our silent heart of love.

@innertalks Thanks Steve, what I meant was we are disconnected the moment selfishness/ego creep in. Then to get reconnected is a tough call. To attain spiritual energy needs divine benediction and we should continue to maintain that frequency or come crashing down with a thud to our mortal levels. It depends on our dependability, consistency, according to me. However, when we have experienced God's love first hand, it is not easy to step back to our "sinful" ways! siva

@Shiva49 Yeh, I understand, but I was trying to posit, it's not that cut and dried. We are never disconnected. The connection is always there. The channel to God is always open. God disconnects himself from no-one. No, I think, we just stop listening to his channel, because we are now making too much noise of our own, thinking that our own channel, which really is just an illusion, is more important than God's channel. Selfishness creeps in keeping us glued to our own illusionary station, but God's heavenly station is still broadcasting and is always there for us in the background as soon as we tune into it once more again. Actually, though, I think we are talking about the same thing, just in different ways...lol...understanding the word disconnection slightly differently. God never disconnects himself from us, we disconnect ourselves from him.
