Let's Talk Blogging

I am looking into getting into blogging. But, what I have realized listening to all the mumble jumble, you need a hosting and a domain name to start this thing up. Well, they never tell you this. I want to know after investing in the under $100 initial start-up cost to get it started is it worth it? I like the idea of expressing yourself because it allows you to do that. And I think all of us get motivated when there is a monetized way to do your blog. I don't know if I would sell out to advertisements. Personally, I wouldn't mind selling spots on my blog for other to advertise. And I would like to run a something to capture leads with. Can anyone tell me if this adventure is worth it? I know this will take roughly 6 months plus to see results. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

You can use blogspot with a custom domain.Suitable for beginners. Never start with free domain.

There are sites that have helpful information on starting a successful blog. I had thought at one time of starting a blog but then decided it's not for me. Three sites I know of that might have good info are https://www.wikihow.com/Start-a-Blog https://edu.gcfglobal.org/en/blogbasics/ But there are many others. Good luck!

Starting a blog takes only less than 5 dollars. This is for blogging using a custom domain on Blogspot. There are several websites where you can find free themes and plugins for blogspot. Spend some time on YouTube and master the art of blogging.

@Lignitecityabishek96 I have over 100 videos on YouTube and had my own site (blogsite) at one time but I don't want to work anymore. I'm retired!

@1hopefulman That's great. Youtube is comparatively better than blogging. Easy to promote because of its Algorithm.

My main purpose of blogging is NOT to earn. I blog to test my skills. I wanted to have my own DOMAIN. I was a frustrated webdesigner. LOL! I have a personal blog but I earn MORE thru paid-to-write sites or social networking sites that pay like bitLanders and Steemit.

Hmm okay noted. To me, a blog is another way to get traffic. You can monetize it if you want to. But, a lot of the scammers out there are pushing the monetization.

If i were you i would start with free hosting site and domain. And if something goes ok, thats the time for you to buy your own domain.

You may want to enroll to some blog courses they offer. It's overwhelming to see all the information about it online.
