Do you earn for responding to a post on MyLot?

MyLot FAQ says, 'How do I earn money exactly? - It's simple... Just participate! Any time you start a discussion, respond to a discussion, or comment in a discussion, you are making a contribution that is eligible for earnings.'
So my question is that if you respond to any discussion, will you be earning?

Being eligible for something doesn't mean that you automatically get it! If I have a driving licence, I am eligible to drive a car but if I don't have one, I have to go out and buy one.
Read the next paragraph. It says: " If no one reads what you wrote, interacts with it, or otherwise considers it interesting, then you likely won't earn anything."

@amirev777 That is something which I, unfortunately, can't tell you. However, a short and relevant but catch title, some detail about the topic (in your own words, of course) and something about your own opinion works best.
You will find, too, that changing your avatar from the stock 'green man' may help in getting yourself known and therefore might increase the number of people likely to want to respond to what you write.

At the moment there are 7 responses on this discussion so you are earning something for them. BUT if you don't somment back to those who responded those peole will not earn. If you never comment back then sooner or later no-one will resond on your posts and then you will earn nothing. Interaction means communication with others abd that is what you have to do here if you hope to earn anything.

@sofssu That's not true. Somebody earns something for every post or 'like' but it's NOT the person doing the interaction. It seems that some newcomers - and even some 'old hands' - haven't grasped that simple fact, yet ALL they have to do is to read what is plainly written in the Earnings Program FAQs!

Essentially I think it's how people respond to you. If people like your comments, respond to your comments, respond to your posts, like your posts etc. That's how you earn. Your own activity should be tailored (besides having fun of course) to getting people to react to you. It's why it's sometimes especially important to leave meaningful comments on other's posts. If others respond to what you say, you earn. If all you do is comment, "I agree," you are not likely to get a lot of reaction and you will earn less overall than someone who spends more time on a comment.
