Trump's fans are all in with him

My parents are HUGE Trump fans. My mother started watching FOX News a couple of years ago (I have no idea why) and that brainwashed her. My dad, who is very smart and who I greatly admire, actually voted for Bernie Sanders in the NJ primary so he didn't drink the Kool Aid until a bit later. (Being from NJ, we've known about Trump's bankruptcies and his general character for decades now) He was a "Never Hillary" guy so when Bernie lost the Democratic nomination to her, then it was Trump all the way for him. I've been waiting for him to start to sour on him as time goes on--as one member of the administration leaves after another, as Trump embarrasses the nation one more time, as Mueller goes after one more person, but it still hasn't happened. A couple of weeks ago, Trump called Congressman Adam Schiff "Little Adam Schitt". I sent a screen shot of the tweet to my dad and asked him what he thought of it. He thought it was hysterical. I was so disappointed with that response. He and I spent the day together today. We briefly discussed the sentencing reports that were released last night. I told him that I thought "Individual 1" (Trump) was screwed. He, of course, does not. We didn't argue about it or debate it. We just talked about it a bit and then dropped it. We know that neither one is going to change the other's mind and we both respect each other as intelligent people. Later on in the afternoon I checked Twitter and saw a series of tweets by Trump attacking Senator Richard Blumenthal. They were going on about him falsely claiming to have served in Vietnam and calling him Dick Blumenthal. The last one said "Next time I go to Vietnam, I'll ask 'The Dick' to go with me!" Yup, he called a sitting Senator a dick and that's after calling a Representative "$hit" 2 weeks ago. So, of course, I had to show it to my dad to get his reaction. He cracked up and said "that's my guy! Pure entertainment!" There is no getting through to these people. They are all in with Trump. They approve of his awful, un-Presidential behavior. They respect him for "counter-punching". Can you imagine if President Obama "counter-punched" at everyone who criticized him or who demanded his birth certificate or who called him a Muslim? He would have been impeached and removed or physically harmed, not revered as this embarrassment is.

Obama would have been at the very least impeached. I hope that when this ends, a lot of Congressmen and Senators who protected him go to jail as well.

Now the questions really is what's with P. Trump that convinced these people. This is also my issue/concern with my P. Duterte. Why do people like his rudeness and attack against women, which was a no-no before in the Philippines. People are hungry for change, but this kind of "change" I think is too extreme.

As much as I like to keep away from all the Trumpiness whenever anything happens and it happens often I always think that perhaps there are big handouts of money exchanging hands to turn the hands in favor of Trump. Just my opinion.

Highly doubt it. Most Trump fans live in red states which are the ones that typically get the most federal aid, the most food stamp $$, the most Medicaid, etc. The Trump administration wants to cut all of that. I've told my parents that they are idiots for supporting him as my mother is on Social Security now and my dad will be in a year. Trump and the GOP want to cut that and Medicare. They are backing the wrong party. But these people never do seem to support their own interests.

Are your parents into reality TV? All I can think of is that too many Americans can't tell the difference between reality TV and reality. Generations of people are being maimed by this blankety blank.

IQ45's supporters are defiantly so. Changing their minds would be admitting a mistake.
