I am often on the interstate, I-20, day or night. I find it easier than to drive the crowded streets in town, just get on the interstate and get off at the next exit, bam! you`re on the other side of town.
I do drive fast on the interstate but not crazy, like in and out or passing to go faster.
Tonight I went into town and decided to get on the interstate since many of the roads in town were filled with water, all the rain, some even flooded out.
The interstate was mostly empty and I drove the middle lane. I was talking to Tony and listening to the music when I seen a car driving really fast coming up behind me, but it was in the fast lane to my left.
The car pulls up beside me and passes driving pretty fast.
It was a state trooper, I looked down at my speed and removed my lead foot, my speed was 85 mph!
He did not slow down at all. I was relived. I reckon he was either off the clock or seen there was no one else on the road so why bother.
The speed limit is 70 mph.
I am glad he was a good cop and did not give me a ticket.

@andriaperry blame it on the music any time I wind up going faster I am either very mad or distracted by music.

@andriaperry I know it happens, when we talk with my husband and he is driving, I notice too often that he speeds too much.

Glad he was in a bigger hurry than you. That would have been a huge ticket.

Wow, your lucky night for whatever reason. He may have been on an urgent but silent run.

Eek a few times I have been on a highway where the speed was 70 and if felt scary to me. I am such a penny pincher I couldn't stand getting a ticket for speeding so I set my cruise control at whatever the speed it so I don't go over it. Everyone drives faster and passes me lol.

@andriaperry It's easy for the speed to creep up. Do you have cruise control? Vince uses that quite a lot now.

I did not realize I was driving that fast, no cars on the road to compare speeds.

That was a lucky escape from the clutches of the law.

He could have been responding to an accident further up the road. That happens all the time here.
