Its one of those plants I love.. they bring so much color to the garden without a fuss.. the caladiums are what I am talking about. The shape and size of the leaves brings so much of a textural difference in your garden.. They don't mind lowly lit areas in your garden too.. they light up the dark zones of your garden with bright colors.. The kind of colors and varieties you get these days is amazing.. From whites to reds to pink and purples the leaves come speckled, spotted, stippled, bordered and sectioned in colors.
They are grown from tubers.. I never pull them out of the containers when they die out. I just plant other seasonal plants in them and in spring they gloriously rise from the dirt. displaying their hearts of pure love.

Maybe you should post a picture of your garden here. Seeing those plants and flowers you are posting each day, makes me so excited to see your garden.
I think that caladium is like the poinsettia, where the leaves give out a beautiful color to the plant itself.

We have a few of that, we call it " ornamental gabi" because it belongs to the the same genus as the edible gabi or taro which btw is also called " elephant ears"
