For the past two days I’ve been highlighting that great “60s sound” era of The Who, including yesterday’s song (which is the most obscure song on the countdown). Now it’s back to the 70s with today’s song. Here’s an FM rock classic. #6: Join Together Ol’ Pete can really write some anthems. Some of them are misinterpreted (“Baba O’Riley”’s chorus of “teenage wasteland” was about Woodstock, and not exactly complimentary) and others were spot-on (“Sister Disco”). “Join Together” is a real celebration of 70s rock and roll. “You can follow or lead the way.” With the diversity of music in the 70s, lots of bands did. It is the singer....and the song. Join Together Written by Pete Townshend Released as a single, 1972 We don’t know where we’re going:

I’m sure Rod’s “You Wear It Well” was a reference to Roger’s hair.
