Do you ever read or buy self-help books?

I usually never read self-help books. And I prefer to spend money on fiction rather than self-help books. That's because I usually start reading them and don't want to continue. Or I fall asleep. Or things go one ear and out the other...
Recently, I came across a self-help book, Life Lessons: Everything You Ever Wished You Had Learned in Kindergarten by Donnalynn Civello, and not only did I buy it - though will admit I checked to see if it was in the library first before buying it, only to find it was not available - but I read it over a period of days without falling asleep, forcing the read, wanting to put the book down and not continue.
This is the first time that happened to me. Everything happens for a reason. Maybe I was meant to stumble upon this book. It's inspirational and eye-opening. And it's one of those books which you re-read many times, and actually want to.And it's something you don't necessarily read in one sitting. A little bit each day is good.
Have you or have you ever read self-help books?

The only self help book I read is the Bible, honestly.
I'm glad you found a good book that you like though! :)

I don't own any self-help books aside from the one I mention in this discussion.

@marguicha I have not put it to use yet. But I hope it will be helpful when I do.

I actually wrote a whole blog post about this but don't think I can share it here.

I'd definitely not read a book that was very repetitive. It would get dull and boring fast.

@lovebuglena I sold some on Ebay and donated quite a few to a library. Any raggedy ones got donated.

That's just wonderful that you found a book that was so helpful to you!
I have read a few self-help books in the past, Some of the info was inspirational, some boring.
I watch a lot of self-help videos and read short online articles nowadays.

I've never really watched self-help videos, aside from those that tell you how to fix things yourself...

This book was definitely enlightening. I got this book for my mom too and she called me the other day asking me where I got this book... I think she is impressed with it.
