I Am A Little Behind

It seems to always go this way. But I am a little behind on responding to all of the wonderful comments people have taken the time to send to my posts.
But, like I wrote in a far-gone discussion, I do eventually get to them all, and I will. I am now taking them one post at a time—just easier I think to manage that way. And so right now I am still working on getting to all of the comments left on my "Baking My Bratwurst" post.
Part of what takes me so long to get to my own posts and take care of them is I tend to always click on the commenter's profile, find something to read, and hopefully leave a comment on what they write as well.
All in day's work. Just like to periodically remind people I have not forgotten about you. It just takes me a bit to spend the time and truly take in your interaction with me.
Onward and upward.

It is always nice to get meaningful responses even though they may be late.

@porwest I like the little alleyways that side track from the main post too. Having said that it is possible only to do it with people who are genuinely interested

Meaningful responses are the best. I like comments that create threads. After all, they must have intended it that way when they (the owners of the site) decided to call them discussions. Discussions in real life rarely tend to be one and done.

@responsiveme It takes a bit to engage a conversation. A well placed comment definitely can facilitate that. Things that kill a conversation are things like "I agree," "Yeah, you're right," or simple emoticon responses.

I also get behind at times but eventually always clear them all. I get a real sense of accomplishments when that happens.

I neglect my own posts a lot. For whatever reason. I spend a lot of time on other's posts. Not sure WHY I do it that way. But I am usually behind on MY OWN posts. Not others. Go figure. It must be the republican in me. I am not out for my own gain, but rather the gain of others.

I have just found it is much easier to manage it that way. I really do want to get to ALL of the comments people have taken the time to leave on my posts and get back to them and their posts. So just focusing on one at a time just works for me, and I never have to wonder where I left off.

I also tend to get behind often and I do enjoy responding to comments. Living on the road and camping many times doesn't give me too much time online. But I do try to catch up whenever I get online.

It can be daunting sometimes when you have a post that garners quite a few responses. A big problem for me is that I almost always go into the commenters profile, find something to read, and also leave a comment on, so in that way going through my own responses on my own posts tends to take me much longer.

The first thing I do the moment I am up is to read through notifications and finish them and then get on to top rated and so on.

Usually I will do something similar. Go through a good amount of notifications, then move onto one of my posts that need attention, then I will hang around mostly most recent activity. I seem to find the most to respond to there as opposed to the other parts of the site.

Wow, real life can get in our way sometimes. Just do what you can and don't forget to live!

Don't sweat it. Just keep plugging away at notifications.

That's all one can do around here. Some days I tend to do things in threes. Three notifications, read and comment on three new posts, respond to three comments on my posts, and go to their posts. Not sure why there is a rhyme or reason to anything I do here. But I never feel like it is work.
