Even though the effects of Winter Storm Diego have caused havoc in the Atlantic region of the U S, one good story came from Lenoir North Carolina on Monday. A family in Lenoir that lost electrical power when the storm knocked over a tree that kept the residents without any electrical power for three days. The mother of the infant called the emergency services for help. The operator then contacted the National Guard for a help mission. Sergeant McPherson who is currently a student at University of North Carolina Greensboro and his crew assisted the mom and her relatives which included the infant to leave the area by placing the infant with warm blankets to the auto of the relatives in the auto. The relatives and the infant are going to Hudson North Carolina who is also without electrical power.
