Gee, I can't believe there aren't any "new" discussions for Dec. 11!

It's 9:23 a.m. California time (Pacific time for those of you who are more precise) on December 11th and there aren't any new discussions! Everyone must be either in bed or Christmas shopping. Speaking of Christmas shopping, I need to do some myself. I wasn't counting on a trip to Bill's daughter and Son-in-law's place for the Christmas Eve and day. We go up on the 23rd and come home the 26th (we have doctor's appointments the next day...drat, I hate that! Maybe I'll sleep on the trip home and make up for the rest I don't get the 26th.) Anyhow I need to buy gifts for Bill, his daughter, son-in-law and grandson. I'll look in the shop when we go in today. I think I'm going to tell the boss that I'm not going to go in on Wednesday. I have a crummy cold and I really don't want to pass it on. If I didn't need my medication I wouldn't go in today...but I need to show my ID for it and Bill's won't work. Darn! I'd rather be home. Anyhow I was looking for interesting discussion in the "Discussions without any response" and the cupboard was bare, so I'm putting this in the mix to see if anyone is doing anything interesting?

Oh my goodness! Whatever screen are you looking at? This discussion is numbered 3235426 and the first discussion posted today (Dec 11th) according to myLot's time was # 3235345 (posted by @ilocosboy at 12:01 11 Dec 2018). When you posted this, therefore, there had already been 81 discussions posted today. Actually, being in California, you are 2 hours behind Central time, so your midnight would have been 2 am Central Time. About the first posted after 2 am CST (midnight your time) was # 3235356, which means that already 70 discussions had been posted when you wrote this! Statistically, for the last 30 days, there have been between 8 and 18 discussions per hour (an average of 10 per hour). Sneeze and you might miss one!

@BearArtistLady Ah! If you are only looking at 'Discussions with No Response', I can understand it! My go-to list is always 'Most Recent Discussions'. I actually rarely check anything else. There's a good description of what each of the choices under 'Explore' means in the Frequently Asked Questions page under "Help".

Wow! My bad!! At the time I checked there weren't any new discussions (discussions with no response). Sorry but the time you were mentioning I was sound asleep and not looking for discussions. Thank you for all the information though, I'm going to do some checking on the discussions you mentioned.

Here I am! I feel less of a failure today cause I got hubby to work and me home in one piece. I drove slowly and did it. Yesterday the roads were a slick mess so we called a Give Me Moolah cabbie.

@BearArtistLady Yesterday the roads were a nightmare. Today they were workable. It looks like its going to warm some- not normal for our December but I don't care. Let it warm!

@sallypup It was cold today in town. I actually wore a jacket the whole time we were in town. Usually it warms up to around 75 and it was 10 degrees cooler than that...it makes it cold!

I hated driving on the snow and slick roads. Right now Bill is doing all the driving because I don't have a car and I don't want to drive his beloved Mustang and I won't drive a truck, which is his other vehicle. With my kind of luck if I drove the Mustang I'd get hit by a wild pig! That was one to explain to the Highway Patrol! I had to do that a few years ago...it was interesting to say the least.

I am sorry to hear you have a cold! I hope you feel better quickly! I'm feeling quite crummy but I think as usual mine is allergies. We must not follow the same people because around the same time you posted this when I look at the list of discussions of people I follow it shows these ones in the photo.

@BearArtistLady I hope you find some great things to use for your bears at Goodwill! That does sound like some kind of glitch.

This is the time of allergies too. With the moisture from condensation mold develops and I know my allergies hate mold. I am feeling better tonight which is wonderful. I wasn't sure if I was going to go into the shop tomorrow but I'm feeling good enough tonight that I'm going to call Mickey in the morning and let him know I'll be in....that also gives me a ticket to Goodwill. They may have some new good stuff in that I can dive into. Yep, I'm feeling better, I want to go to Goodwill. I'm not too sure but it could have been some sort of upset with the web. Each time I went to the list of discussions without any answers it didn't have anything in it. Tonight it is acting much better.

@BearArtistLady It is good that you're able to turn these old fur items into 'new' bears. It must be very satisfying to create something new and lovely out of old items.

@JudyEv I love being able to do something that creative. If I had the funds I would recycle fake fur coats into bears to give to children that don't receive things like that. Mostly underprivileged children. I went into the shop and found that I had sold a bear and a lion...it was a nice surprise. I have a whole shelf of Steiff animals and hopefully they'll be bought for Christmas presents.

The one thing I wanted to get I managed to get, and that was a steam iron. I did pretty good I remembered almost everything I've been wanting to get plus I got some pens for the shop. For some reason we keep running out of them so I bought a box of 15 pens to see how well the last. Bill wasn't feeling too good either, he didn't want to do anything much either so I got my pain meds and some TV dinners and we headed home. Tomorrow maybe I'll do Goodwill and see what I can find there. I bought a antique fur hat to recycle into a bear. It's a white seal or sheared beaver. I'm gonna bite the bullet and buy the black fur jacket that one of the dealers upstairs has. It will recycle into nice bears.

You just saved your bacon Plethos! I was going to yell Snot Snot Snot at you for getting your shopping done. I haven't started mine yet (of course I don't feel up to it either) but I think that most of my shopping is going to be done on Ebay. All the people on my list are collectors so it makes it easy to find things in their interest area. Now for me it's easy, pick out anything and I can use it. But my main desire is a Siamese kitten. I would be thrilled beyond words to find one under the tree, I'd probably sit and snivel for hours over the thing....but I miss my assistants like crazy. When you make bears you love having "supervisors" that will put their paws in your work. Okay, what do you want Santa to bring you for Christmas?

I'm sorry that you're not good. I wish I could be there to cheer you up and make the day somewhat interesting for you. I'm not at my best either (cold with a bad runny nose) but I could still cheer you up.

@BearArtistLady Yes, that is what I expected, so that I could be entertained, maybe something like that would make me feel good

@KOLAMsegaran1 Humm, wonder how long it would take to get there? It'd be nice if we had transporters like on Star Trek where you could tell them where you want to go and you're there in seconds.

I wish to see some travel discussions because there are few of these. I looked at "Interesting Discussions" and there were just four of these which I responded to. Sometimes I look at "Discussions without any response" and it was a pity there were none of these. Today I went to the library to look at and print a pdf document. I visited my mum that lives in a care home. When I got home I made sure I sorted out the recycling. It is wise to do that before it gets dark. I have bought most Christmas presents. I need to wrap the ones I have and see if I have missed anyone out.

Shoot, thanks for reminding me that I HAVE to buy wrapping paper! Having everything destroyed in a house fire leaves you with needing things you normally don't think about. I gave in and bought a printer so I can do any copying or printing that is necessary. After nearly a $20 bill for printing the documents that I sent to the power company it seemed like a good idea to get a printer. My recycling is in Bill's shed. When I get over this cold I will go up and do a major sort. I have my neighbors donating their recycling so that I can make money...every little bit helps. I don't go outside in the dark much. For some reason raccoons take a shine to me and if I talk to them they end up coming around constantly for attention. It wouldn't be so bad but they can't stay out of things. Have a great Christmas if I don't hear from you again.

Well I guess part of it is the holiday season...another thing is each time I went back to the discussions with no response section there were none listed. While I was in town and stopped at one shop the man there was complaining he couldn't get web service on his phone. I think there was probably some problem with the web.
