Compression socks

Japan

I have recently discovered compression socks, which are socks that are very tight on your feet, ankles and (if long) shins. They are supposed to keep the blood from pooling in your feet and legs. As a teacher, I stand up most of the day and I can tell you that these things really work! I'm amazed at how my feet are not tired at the end of the day. I have always tried to wear shoes that support my feet but the socks are a great addition! I can really tell the difference on the days I try not wearing them! Also they seem to help with back pain. What secrets have you got to keep your feet and body functioning well?

It is good to know this. I always wonder how come tight socks don't stop the circulation but I guess the experts know what they're doing. I'll be looking at getting some for our next flight to Ireland.

They are really amazing. The tops of regular socks seem to cut off my circulation (well, not really, but they make dents) but these seem to even out everything. I think I like the ankle-length sports ones best.

@petatonicsca Yes, I get dents too. I will definitely get some as we have several long flights next year and while I don't have any trouble normally I'm not getting any younger.

Since I work at home for me it is keeping a positive attitude and finding something to smile about each day.

i like the long ones that go up to the knee, but those are hard to find out here for some reason.

Now that's a good kind of invention. I have not seen them here but perhaps a few specialty stores have them. Those socks would go well with comfy shoes. I try to use the most comfortable shoes as much as possible, especially on days when I know I'll be doing a lot of walking.
