A Pregnant Woman, Smoking !

Last night, when the jeepney I was riding, stopped for a passenger to alight, I saw a very pregnant woman smoking by the sidewalk beside the vendor that sells cigarettes. I noticed she was trying to hide her smoking. Hmm, maybe she’s hiding from her husband.

Anyway, we all know that smoking is bad to our health. How much more when you are pregnant, right? It can increase the risks of fatal complications to both the mother and the baby. I hope , the woman’s child will not get so affected by her smoking while she was pregnant with the baby. I can only sigh, with the sad sight, I saw last night. Note: Picture is from google

maybe the pregnant lady is smoking as a mechanism to get rid of the life growing inside her. sometimes if we look into the psychological side, the woman cannot accept the fact that she will be a mother soon.

It's very bad for the baby, most of the time babies of smoking mothers have birth defects. Here now you can denounce a woman who smokes while pregnant and even if she smokes in a house where there are young kids.

I totally agree.

It could really affect the baby and may give him/her a defect. When that happens she has no one to blame but herself.

That's a shame that the woman is continuing to smoke while she is pregnant. Hopefully maybe she only has one a day.

Precisely.

At first i didn't see that she is pregnant because the sidewalk was not so well lighted and her back was what was facing us. But when she was in her sideview i saw that she's already pregnant.

The way she is doing it, presuming that even if it is only once a day, it will still affect her baby's health and they can be both at risk when she will be giving birth to her already.

@SIMPLYD Once or twice no difference. Bad habit is bad habit. It is worse if a pregnant women is doing it. Mother is person who is responsible for care of her child. She is playing with health of her unborn child.

i think mothers like her must be punished by laws.. she is not alone and she shares a body with her baby.. so she must care and be careful about her baby.. i really hate selfish people.. i am also very sad to hear this story..

I have a friend who also smoke. One time I ask her why she can't get rid of smoking. She said smoking makes her relieve from all stress she's feeling. Maybe, it's just the same for the woman. But the fact that she is pregnant makes it dangerous.
