I think Bamboo is so pretty. They do not need much light to live and of course they need to be watered but not everyday. The Chinese Restaurant in town have some for sale. But, my husband bought the one in the picture. He works at Lowes and bought if from the Lowes plant nursery and he got an employee discount. I took the photo with my digital camera.

The bamboo plant looks very attractive in the photo. I once thought of planting bamboo in the wet part of our yard but was warned that it would take over the yard very quickly and once it takes hold, it is nearly impossible to eradicate.

oh yea it will.you're best off having it in a big pot outside.that way it can't easily spread.when i worked for a landscaper we had one property where it was allowed to grow, and the rootbase it made was damn near impossible to get rid of.

@LeaPea2417 As wet as my yard is now, I'd gladly let the bamboo take over if it would suck up some of the moisture.

The Chinese people consider that particular bamboo a lucky charm actually. They usually tie a red ribbon in the stalk. here's another variety of bamboo that I like. I hope the photo would show up.

@LeaPea2417 They do. They bring good luck so most Chinese shop have this. And sometimes they just cut the stem and placed them in water. It thrives and would grow roots then you can replant them again.

We have bamboo in the garden, it's a very solid plant that needs no care at all.

Yes,which is good for me. I am not good at taking care of plants that require a lot of assistance in order to survive.

It is a very nice looking plant. I think they might be called the 'lucky' plant here too.
