When I saw this word, it was vaguely familiar to me. I'd heard it before and I knew it had a negative connotation, but I couldn't remember its meaning. When I was in my preteen years, our family had three dogs. They were mostly outdoor pets. They had a large fenced backyard to live and play in. My brother and I had the responsibility of cleaning up the dogs' messes three times a week. It was the most onerous job I think I've ever had! It was even worse in the summer time. Hey, jobs like that keep a kid humble! LOL What has been your most onerous task?

@JohnRoberts yesterday I was returning from shopping and looked up at my bathroom window. There is a small overhang of the roof above it and there was Sid sound asleep.

Doing the laundry and cleaning the house. Ahh, these tasks make me weak to the bone.

Thanks for sharing @Jane357. I don't mind laundry, but I really dislike doing dishes.

Just cleaning areas of the house can be onerous at times. You could say enormous is another way to describe cleaning up after dogs. That word I do know the meaning of.. Thanks for explaining that word, Had heard it before but was not sure of the meaning

Yes I think that's the correct usage. Laundry is not a big issue for me now that my kids have grown up and moved out. Thank you @TJGray
