The Heralds of the Savior's Coming

I'd be grateful if any mylotter friend could tell me this flower's name . I'm sure they bloom in other parts of the world. I have seen them in old Christmas cards. We have just one plant of this flower in our flower garden. In my native north these flowers are called heralds of the Savior or just Christmas Flowers. They only bloom in this season and with the approach of hot months they go away. As the joyful day the nativity of the Savior draws near the feeling of happiness is already in the air and these blooms appear to be heralding the Messiah's coming.
