If I Could Choose the Way I Die

I think that death is one topic that most of us wouldn’t like to discuss. Since this is really inevitable, please allow me to share what’s on my mind and thank you for that. If I could choose the way I die, I would want it to happen during my sleep. I visualized that I would be in the terrace of the house overlooking the ocean on my rocking chair and then peacefully pass on with the rain without going through with so much pain and agony but of course no, not yet this time. This is not a simple wish because it is really unknown to us the time and cause of everyone’s death. Whatever the future would bring to us, I think it is nice that one must not forget to celebrate the beauty of life and thankful with all the blessings despite of some trials. Have a pleasant day ahead to all of you wherever you are in this part of the universe. CHEERS! Photo is from the nearby pool during our school batch meeting.

I only hope that it will be fast, a heart attack like my father is what I wish, it does not matter where it happens.

Yes, because the most terrifying is when you undergo a lot of pain and agony.

@ZedSmart The worst, living like a vegetable. Being in pain I can ask here to stop my life (it's legal), but if I am a vegetable I can do nothing.

Going in one’s sleep is the best way to go. I’m not into pain and suffering, but as you said, we have no choice in the matter.

@ZedSmart We have a living will that informs loved ones when we wish to “pull” the plug.

How I wish we have the option to just shut down the button when we think it's the right time.

Maybe we are all afraid to suffer that's why.

My brother was fortunate enough to die in his sleep, sitting in his chair listening to music. He was only 79 but was blind and not particularly happy so for him it was a good way to go.

@ZedSmart I'm sorry your parents have passed on. They were not really that old.

Yes, that's one wish that we want to come true when it's already our time.

I think during sleep is the best way because there would be no fear.

If I'm soldier I want to die in a battle. If I'm astronaut I want to die in space. If I'm hiker I want to die in alps. But im not... ... so I want to die like Bicentennial Man.
