The Cure have been elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!
Almost equally shocking is the fat that Roxy Music is also being inducted.

My God, what's the matter with them? They actually elected some deserving ones. Wow, the Cure plus Roxy Music! I like the Zombies for nostalgia's sake. Radiohead is good. No issue with Stevie Nicks or Def Leppard. My only peeve is "rocker" Janet Jackson when it should be the again shunned Devo. The most solid class in years and they just couldn't make it 100%. Jackson has no place in Rock and Roll HOF when she is pop and absolutely not R&R.

WHOO HOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Opens the door for Depeche Mode, New Order, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Echo and the Bunnymen, and hopefully, The Smiths. Maybe even Sonic Youth and Ministry!
If only Devo and John Hiatt had made it, everyone that I voted for would be in.
I really don't have a problem with any of them. Def Leppard should be in, although Stevie got in on the strength of one great album and ballot stuffing by a bunch of worshippers who have absolutely no idea that Fleetwood Mac was a great band long before she and Lindsay joined up.

I'm thinking that they'll induct the Walkers (Boston-based band who made an EP, got a record deal out of the EP, then broke up before making an album) will get inducted ahead of Foreigner. The politics are sad.
