Either everything is perfect, or nothing is perfect. Which of these ideas is correct?

Perfection never exists within life. Life needs imperfection to go forwards from itself

I have been reading where some guy made these types of outrageous comments about our Universe. "Everything is perfect just as it is. There are no accidents or coincidences. Nothing happens by chance. " Now, is he wrong here, or not? I would say that perfection is more a relative thing, as decided by each person. Perfection is a value judgement of how we see things, because ultimately perfection never exists. It can only be approximated too. Perfection, itself, is a frozen death scenario of nothing. There is an interesting verse in the Christian Bible, to be found in Saint Matthew's gospel, chapter 5, verse 48. Jesus Christ is telling us this. "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." I would say that only our father in Heaven is perfect, and that all under him are not. They are their own selves, striving in a perfectly created world, but then, depending on them to maintain it, but the world also goes on from itself, and whether its operating status is perfection, at all times, is a mute point to humans, being killed at times from this operation, because perfection never happens outside of God, but when we return our soul to God by loving him fully, the outside lack of perfection drifts away back into the illusionary world that it is, and all we see then is God, and his perfection outwardly manifesting inwardly. why can't some things be perfect and not others? Perfection is a subjective term anyway. I might think someting or someone is perfect while others see flaws

@arthurchappell A game like chess, also must have a sort of perfection level to it too, which computers have nearly reached now, as they have already done so with checkers.

Well, who is qualified to say something is perfect, unless we define a perfect being qualified to do that, otherwise, as you say, perfection forever remains subjective. I cannot think of anything that is perfect, except perhaps for invented perfection, like with mathematics, 2 plus 2 equals 4, always so, perfectly so, by definition, I guess.

We need the imperfection to be alive here. God knows an idle mind is a devil's workshop; he has to keep us on our toes, on the move! We can find balance by accepting those we have no control over and lending our hand to make a positive change. What we see as perfect may not be so in another's eyes. So, we have to learn to let go, look ahead, and move on. Today's perfection may not be relevant tomorrow, so all is relative too over time - siva

Yes, on a broader scale, things seemed to have "worked" (sort of nearly perfectly) over time, as the Universe has stayed pretty much the same for millions of years, and it's still here, so something must be working. The Earth is reaching a crisis point now though, where the inhabitants can destroy their own home through their own stupidity. Is this stupidity part of the inbuilt broader scale perfection of the Universe, that causes such small blips of rising stupidity to be wiped out over time, within itself? All is relative, and here one day, but perhaps gone the next. Maybe, it's the same with mankind, they will disappear too from the Earth, and a more "perfect" race will develop then, to replace them.

@innertalks I think we have an inner knowing that we will survive with some help of course. From time to time, great minds/souls have been in our midst to steady us, make us focus on the right path. I think intuition, more than mere intelligence, plays the key role and that is where God steps in. Again, we have a connection to Him but we have to tune in to the right frequency but the din, dust, and noise of our creation prevent us from doing so. Hopefully, we can move more towards inclusivism as many are left to "be in the World but Not of It" due to the few who set our agenda devoid of love - siva

@Shiva49 I sort of agree, that we will probably pull ourselves through from our bootstraps. God has supplied us with boots. We just need to walk properly in them with laces tied up properly so that we do not continually trip ourselves up with them...LOL...
