A surprise in the mail

I had a lovely surprise in the mail just a day or two ago. MyLotter Valerie (@just4him) sent me a lovely Christmas card, my first from overseas. Isn’t it pretty? It has joined others which at the moment are all lined up on the bar top and various others ‘tops’. Thanks Valerie for thinking of me.
In a few hours we’ll be heading to the ‘big smoke’ (the city) to spend two nights with a friend. We’ll hang out together tonight and probably play Qwirkle then tomorrow we’re all attending an evening function.
Both our friend and Vince have been bursars (business administrators) in schools and the function is for retired bursars. Our friend is still working in a school but not as a bursar. So I won’t be around for a day or two.

There are small tiles which come in six colours and six different shapes. You have to form lines either of one colour or one shape. You score points for the number of tiles you put down. There is a little bit of skill involved but mostly luck in picking up the colours and/or shapes that you need. You can't duplicate identical tiles in a single line.

@JudyEv Well I remember you too, Judy, but I have never been one to send Christmas cards out. You'll just have to trust me when I say you and Vince are in my thoughts during the Christmas season!

Oh Judy that is so sweet of that MyLotter to mail you such a lovely Christmas card and its message is to be remembered forever! Sometimes God puts valuable people in our path, this Valerie is one of those. Have fun with your friend, and share a good time with them. :)
