I used to but now I do not.........

So many things I used to do but now I do not and in some cases I cannot. I can no longer dance thanks to my broken back. I loved to dance. I no longer wear dresses. My huge waist does not permit that. I used to visit people. I do not do that any more. I can write a book on what I used to do and that which I do not do now. How about you. Do you have a huge list too?

I have not stopped doing anything. Rather, I enjoy life more now than it was in the past

I stopped doing service for other people. I learnt, being broadminded will not serve any purpose.

@allknowing I do it for my happiness too but that is a different thing. I forget, what I do for my own happiness, in the next very moment. When people used you for their own benefits and later they forgot you, then it is difficult to digest. Am I right? Not expecting gratitude, but why absence of communication?

There is no gratitude. I do it for my own happiness and I know I will not get a thank you from them.

There are things I no longer do because of getting older and things I no longer do through choice

As we get on in age we lose interest in so many things and that does not mean we do not live. There are new things that we engage in

But as things get lost sometimes new ones are found--- I miss the walking I used to do. My back is not great and walking too far causes me leg pain. But I can do short spurts of walking which is healthy to do and I try to do that often.

Finally it is a matter of acceptance and being OK with whatever is doled out to us. I am fine. I too would have continued to travel to places which I cannot do now but I reminisce having travelled the world quite a bit when I could.

I am so sorry to hear about your broken back, did you have any accident before? In my case there is something I can't do anymore. When I was 10 years old I fell down from a tree and broke my right forearm, it was horrible and the pain the worst ever. I had a surgery and all the stuff done, thank God I am fine and there's a little scar over there, thing is now i cannot touch my right shoulder with my right hand because rarely my hand can't get there while my left hand can. Fortunately I am left-handed so there's no major issue on that :)
