Well, today I am reading

For a long time I have not read library books. At least for three years. Even when I was it was more How To and less entertainment. Since we have been going in to McPherson so often, I have started picking out fun books to read. I stayed up too late last night to read one. This is a whole new series for me, the Southern Sewing Circle series, by Elizabeth Lynn Casey. Those of you who like mystery and romance would enjoy it. Oh, there are sewing tips in the back of the book as well. I also have a book by MC Beaton and one by Jennifer Chiaverini . Beaton also writes mysteries, set in Scotland, and Chiaverini is the author of the Elm Creek Quilters stories. I stayed up late last night and read most of the book Sew Deadly. Finished it this morning. I am also working on a wood working project, a paint storage table and work surface made of old dresser drawers and doors from a cabinet that is coming down. Sid, the mechanic, is coming to help Bob with projects on two vehicles. Bob is excited. He is feeling good today. Eating the way he should and taking a soothing medicine helps. The sun is shining, and I am enjoying the flicker hogging the bird feeder. He keeps the cardinals chased away as much as possible. It is a lovely day. This is an old picture I took, and it has nothing to do with the discussion.

@GardenGerty Enjoy the books. I have not read a library book in ages. I get books from people I know or get at a used bookstore love mystery books and so far have not heard of the authors you mentioned.

Reading is great where ever the books come from. I have an app on my phone called Reader Coin I am exploring. I chose to listen to an old favorite while working on my toilet paper holder.

@GardenGerty You are right reading wherever it comes from is important. I love to be able to read. I get to read more while waiting for an appointment than I do on our Sabbath. My cat wants my attention on our Sabbath and she should have it.

It only took being told the right things to do and he is doing well. It is good to have some interest shown.

I found an app that I play on the phone, it is called Reader Coin and I listen to that from time to time. I do not like audio books in the car, but this is great to listen to while I do dishes and cook.

I've no idea what a flicker is that's keep your cardinals away from their food. I've not read books in a long time either. For me it maybe has even been longer than three years. If I read then I'm not here. There are other things that I do along with being here, like watch hours of a series that may now be over with. It's hard to tell with cliff-hangers. Good that your husband is feeling better. I hope he didn't overdo things yesterday.

@GardenGerty I don't have an actual tv hooked up where I can watch the news or weekly shows. We only have streaming of old shows or old episodes and a raku player for movies. I went about five years or more without watching anything current or old, but now I'm hooked on a few series.

I always read before bed even if for just 5 minutes as it helps relax me and makes me able to sleep better. To many times I have been tired the next day from reading to long but some books are so hard to put down. I hope you will share photos of the wood working project you are working on when your done.

It sounds like you are doing some things you enjoy, just like I've been doing. I've probably read at least seven books in the last ten days. Most were light romances, but I also read a couple of mysteries and some more literary fiction. I enjoyed it all. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

Patterson and Grisham are two my husband likes. They are more what I call suspense. I know they have mysteries as well. Do you like those authors?

When I stopped hoarding books, hoarding all things, I began to use the library and I love it, I have a kindle now so I can get books online too.

I listened to some chapters in a book from an app called ReaderCoin. You can earn money there. I thought I did not like audio books, but maybe that is just in the car. In my living room it was good. I was listening to something I had read at least once and seen as a movie. There were parts that I did not remember, though.

You sound content and working on being so. I need to get going at going through my local library's website to see what I'd like them to send me. That's cool about Bob.

That is much like my husband. The library saves them back for him and calls him if they get books in his genre.
