Expired Products: Is it still safe to use them after their expiration dates?

My colleague gave me gifts last year and I just put it in my drawer. Unfortunately, I did not check its expiration date. Just last night, I decided to get and use it. But, I found out that the moisturizing hand cream, the moisturizing shower cream and moisturizing bar soap already expires. Its expiration dates are all August 2018.
Do you still use products like those after their expiration dates? Have you tried using products even they are already expired? Are they still safe to use?

I used them now and its okay. I don't like eating expired foods. I am afraid eating those food because I might be poisoned.

I would take care with antibiotics and the like. But those creams can be used still.

@marguicha I think they are still okay because if they are not okay, you will say they are not.

@annierose But I use a hand cream for a while later. And I also eat yogurts and the like a few days after the expired date if they are not open.

i would still use it. but if you have sensitive skin, maybe do an allergy test first. apply some on your hands and check for any reaction. notice the color, texture and smell of those products also.
