I had two kills today.

I had two kills today. I don't like hurting animals, but fruit flies buzzing directly in front of my face will be destroyed. I think they're here because I tend to eat a bit of banana and a bit of Granny Smith apple, and leave the rest on my counter for later. When I'm at my computer, and the kitchen light is off, they no doubt take a break from eating and, to quote the brilliant songwriter, Horse, "move toward the light." The secret to a successful kill is to see which way they move as you move your hands toward each other for the squish and rapidly move your hands in the same direction. It's an acquired skill. How many kills do you have in an average day? By the way, do you recognize the photo I chose? My dad and I (and later me alone) made a few of these (Monogram model airplanes) when I was a kid.

My husband will chase a fly around the house until he kills it.

Any bug in the house bothering me has to go.

If it's just a cute little spider, do you coax her onto a used envelope and deposit her on a bush outside?

@TheHorse Nope as it seems if I have one spider I have a dozen more.

In winter almost no kills at all, insects are not around in winter. Yesterday I caught a sting bug in the bedroom (I always open the window in the morning). I did not kill, I got it with a tissue and threw the intruder out of the window.

@TheHorse I never kill spiders, I grab one of their legs and throw out.

You are challenging Raid as the fastest fly killer in the west.

@TheHorse Me too. I have many fruit flies. I don't know how to get rid of them.

Is that a training model of a Hawker Hurricane?

@TheHorse The rivets should have clued me in. Wasn't the Hurricane originally cloth covered?

It's actually a Spitfire. I made models of both. The Spitfire's wings are "pointier."

We do not have many flies around this time of year but I know some places they are a pest!

I often don't even bother with common house flies, though I found a no-stink insect killer up in Montana (benign chemical warfare). But these little fruit flies have poor boundaries.
