smoking in public area

i just been in a wedding party with my wife. in indonesia, a wedding must be attended by at least 500 people or more and that is not considered as a big party.
one thing makes me upset when i attend wedding party, so many people smoke. i hate people who smoke in public or in crowd. that is neither be nice nor be respectful.
but people dont smoke when they are in starred hotel only

Smoking is not allowed anywhere in public here in Canada too ( like Anna @Lady Duck). I like not being around smoke, I am thankful I don't have to be around it.

Smoking in many areas of Australia is banned now so luckily we wouldn't be faced with this.

It is a matter of respect, the smoke annoys me too and I hate when people smoke near me.

Smoking is forbidden in most public places in the US, but allowed in private gatherings, like wedding receptions. Smoking has greatly decreased in the US.
