After the question for the Top 5, I said the least Catriona would get would be No. 2 but after hearing the answers of South Africa and Venezuela for the Top 3 question, I was sure Catriona would get the crown :)

@sunrisefan What really impressed me is that what she spoke in there were the truth she did go to Tondo and volunteered to work with the poor and is acknowledged by the organization she joined in. It shows her authenticity and truth in what she said.

@rsa101 That's the advantage of being honest - you can talk confidently. And yes, I think she started her Tondo volunteering long before she joined the Miss Universe pageant.

She's really a smart and intelligent girl.

@sunrisefan We were watching at the office. The guard was kind enough to turn on the TV to the Miss U channel. We only use the monitor for company announcements but that time was crazy. My officemates were shouting. When we heard her final answer, we knew that we are only waiting for the formal announcement. And when Venezuela was called 2nd RU, we knew 100% that we will have our 4th! This should be our 5th if Janine Tugonon was not robbed of her Miss U crown.

I was watching a while ago on Youtube the devasting earthquake and tsunami in your country in October and I hope your countrymen recover and rebuild soon. There was also a 7.1 magnitude in the southern part of our country yesterday. Our countries are just backdoor neighbors.

Yes, she deserved the crown as she really prepared much for the pageant. It will serve as a vehicle to further her advocacy of helping the children in the slums. I'm going to several meetings and will probably be home by 11PM or later :) Enjoy your evening, Ms. Val!
