Hi guys,
There is a bank in Malaysia facing online customer database being compromised. All the transactions were related to purchased using Paypal platform. So, be careful of your online banking details and don't disclosure to anyone else.
My online account also being hacked by fraudster before. They had purchased online game points using my money. Luckily, I noticed it and informed the bank. Once the bank has investigated, they returned the money back to my account.
Do you have similar online account being hacked by others before? Please share your experience and whether any losses you have.

In my country, if the bank are not helpful or provide necessary assistance, the complaint can be bought to higher level authority. They will take action to see any unfair resolution given by the bank and expatiate
the investigation.

oh, you are same with @Debjani.
I also linked my one of my bank account to Paypal. It is just that you will receive many email from paypal which is actually from fraudster asking you to update your paypal account. So be careful about it.
I asked with the Paypal customer service officer how to differenciate a genuine email from paypal. They told me to forward the email without sending out. You can see the sender whether is listed from Paypal or something lengthy address. That's the trick.
You can report to paypal for any scam email relate to paypal too.

I know a UK bank recently had problems with a computer update which left itself open to fraudsters. A lot of people banking there were locked out of their on-line banking. It was a time were some people's bills didn't get paid. Some people had money stolen out of their bank account. They used to have an current account that paid 5% interest up to £2000. However they changed it to 3% interest and due to their problem they put it back to 5% interest. It is still on up to £1500. £500 must be paid in each month. Years ago I had a credit card and I was not spending on it. I was paying it off and it was going down at £200 a month. I had two expenses that were not mine. I phoned the company and they took it off my account. I am so pleased because it was a fraudsters.

I am sure the bank believe you that the two transactions are not purposely done by you after they investigated it.
I remembered read the news too but not sure the details. Thanks for letting me know.

This has never happened to me before but I have a friend who got scammed into transferring her money into someone who promised to give her a container full of computer devices. I don’t know how she could have fallen for the scam. We all need to be careful.

Our bank calls us if they see something they think is suspicious so we have been lucky so far. I'm glad your money was returned.

That's one of my fears when buying online and revealing your bank details; though I do not have that much money, but I should be careful for whatever little money I have.

Absolutely, every sen in our bank account is our hard earn money.
No one should take it without our acknowledgement.
Be cautions.

In my case I have not been cyber attacked ever! However it reminds me to change my Paypal account's password to another that is harder so I don't face something like this. I am glad that you noticed it quickly and notified to your bank so they could work on that. We have to be very careful with our personal online bank account info. Take care. By the way welcome to myLot, I noticed you are new in here. :)
