It's a Wrap!

I'm nothing if not efficient! Yesterday, my Christmas shopping was on the list if dreaded tasks. Today, it is behind me. Leaving the house at 8 AM, driving to the neighbouring town, trying to beat the forecast storm, was my challenge for the morning. Four stores later, my shopping was finished....within my budget and before the sky opened up. I drove home in a mix of ice pellets, snow and freezing rain. This afternoon I watched the snow pile up while the gifts were wrapped. Now, I need to pack for our trip to visit the kids and grand kids!

Good for you. How far do you have to travel to visit your family?

@JudyEv Thursday morning early we hope to be on the road. The forecast is favourable....but we have another day with snow today. It's a white white world this morning....and the snow is still falling.

@Morleyhunt I don't think many of us want to pay for it six months from now.

It's the staying within my budget that's often difficult. I certainly don't want to be paying for Christmas, six months from now.

I think my Christmas shopping is done. My missus keeps giving me new ideas. At some point, I will have to wrap what I've bought. Today is not that day.

I decided to go with socks and gift cards. Not terribly imaginative...but we have a large family, and everyone has pretty much the things they want and need,

Must have been pleasant to wrap the Christmas gifts while watching the snow falls.

@Juliaacv we'll be driving the long stretch again. After this trip, we have no plans to head back to Ontario until possibly June.

Thank you! This morning I'm going to relax and watch the snow accumulate. I'm glad the forecast for our travel days doesn't include snow.

I see that it snowed where you are. It's very cold here, but dry for the moment. Have fund packing and drive safely.

@Morleyhunt It's Wednesday and it's very cloudy today, I fear it's going to snow.

It's now 5 PM Tuesday, and it's finally stopped snowing. That said...now it's windy, so driving is still treacherous. Tomorrow and Thursday promise to be nicer days.

I beat it home. Hubby went out in it later and also returned safely home. The forecast for Thursday and Friday (our travel days) is much better.

Currently about 6 inches (15 cm) with at least as much more coming down overnight. It's heavy and wet. The photo shows a previous snowfall.
