Don't Spend it All in One Place

I needed some Christmas bags and tissue paper so I headed to the Dollar Tree this afternoon. As you can imagine, so close to Christmas it was very busy. As I went to the front to check out, I evaluated the two open lanes. One had four people in it, with medium size bundles to pay for. The second had two people in it, but I couldn't see how much stuff they were buying. I got in the line with two people in it. Big mistake! The first lady bought $190 worth of stuff! For those who don't know, Dollar Tree sells everything for one dollar, and sometimes less. So you can imagine how long I waited in line. The second lady bought $60 worth of stuff, but compared to the $190 it seemed minimal. One hundred and ninety dollars isn't much at a grocery store or department store, but wow, the Dollar Tree. She had twelve bags. How much have you ever spent there? I rarely go, but the most I have spent there is probably twenty dollars.

I wonder if she was purchasing for donations? Or was she buying things to craft with? That is quite a lot at a dollar tree. I think the most I've spent is like $20.00.

She didn't have craft supplies, but she bought about six pairs of gloves, and six ski hats to donate to the homeless shelter, which was really sweet. She bought like ten cans of tuna because she said her daughter can't get enough. The array of stuff was amazing, and she was going through things as the cashier was ringing them up, explaining why she was buying each thing. She was very chatty, and very likable.

@AmbiePam I guess that makes the wait atleast a little more bearable. It's nice she was donating tobaggen's to the homeless shelter. I love tuna too, but it's more of a "once in awhile" type thing.

I am sure I never spent more than 25 dollars there, but there are times in fact most times you go in for one thing and come out with 5. I think they kind of bank on that actually.

I don't think I ever spent more than $20 there, that is amazing someone was able to spend so much since I feel a lot of their products are not even worth the $1.

I would have switched aisles. Poor you! I don’t shop there except for tissue paper for Doodles to play with. $10 lasts him about two months. lol

@AmbiePam He goes under it and attacks it. He must like the sound it makes. Everything he does is hilarious to us.

That is a huge amount to spend at $1 a time! No wonder it took forever to ring it up.

I would never spend either amount there, unless the store was gping out of business and we wanted to stock up on tin pans, tissues, sponges, chips and candy. Lol. Think most weve spent there in one trip is $20-$30. But that wouldve been when we had kids over and got stuff to craft and color plus candy for good behavior.

Most of her stuff would make odd gifts, but you never know.

If they are of good quality, I would spend more there. If it is just tissue papers, bathroom stuff and gardening stuff.

We have a dollar tree here, but I rarely go there because its not close to where we live. The dollarama store sells everything for more then a dollar-go figure. Andy typically the dollar stores up here do not have the selection that you have in yours, and the quality is terrible. I only go there if I'm buying gift bags, which aren't bad, or tissue paper like you did.

Are the products of good quality despite cheap prices?

I would say 50% is of equal quality to regular stores, and 50% is cheap imitations of products that are usable, but not quality.
