What are some of unhygienic habits do you have?

When I was a school going kid I had developed this habit of compulsive nail biting. My father used to constantly reprimand me for this. He had even threatened to take me to a doctor and pull out my nails. Now I do bite my nails occasionally, but only when I'm nervous.

My daughter had the habit of biting her nails and I would continously hit her on her knuckles to break the habit.

I could never understand people biting their nails. Why would one want to do that? I don't have any unhygienic habits and I hope I don't get any.
