I have just finalised the menu for that party that some of you know about While every other item I picked up keeping guests in mind the dessert is chosen with me in mind. This is my favourite dessert Why not be a bit selfish? . How do you go about planning a menu for a party?

I had those sweet balls in an Indian restaurant the taste is very good. I plan keeping in mind the tastes of my guests. I usually make more than one dessert, some of my friends like chocolate desserts, others not.

It's been so long since I've had a party I've forgotten. I actually used to keep a notebook of what I served at major events and even the recipes. I'd repeat dishes that went over well and met other requirements (ease of preparation, ability to stay out on a table for the right amount of time, etc.) I didn't always try to do something new. I just let some dishes be traditional so I could repeat them every year.

Keeping a tab on what you served the last time is a nice way to go about it but I wonder if guests would remember what they ate at your party that you threw last time

@allknowing They used to look forward to my cheesecake squares and brownies each year. Even it they did remember, so what? I never had one complaint from any guest about serving the same thing two years in a row. Many families have traditional holiday foods they eat every year and people get upset if the menu changes.

That dessert looks yummy and a dish that I just love. I do a mix of both my liking's and my guests when I decide on my menu. My inlaws are pure vegetarians so when they come the menu is an all veg one and when my side of the family is there it is a mix of veg and non veg.

Mostly nowadays we would choose something we could cook without taking us away from our guests too much. The dessert looks really lovely.
