The last of the cherries is ours

Around Christmas each year, roadside stalls set up in the area selling freshly picked cherries. These are sweet and delicious and we bought a bagful this morning to take away with us when we visit our friends.
The lass told Vince they have just about run out of cherries so I’m glad we were able to get some before that happened. I just hope we manage to have a few left by the time we arrive. Are you able to buy cherries in your area? How long are they available in the stores?

Cherries are not so common in our area. It is not a native fruit. But we do get them in few selected stores. They are good quality ones but quite costly.

I love cherries, but they are not sold in here. Common fruits being sold in stalls near our areas are : apples, mangoes, bananas, watermelons, melons, grapes and oranges.

@Courage7 I wrote about the original of this saying. You can find it here if you want to read it:
Have you heard the expression 'cold enough to freeze the balls off a br*** monkey'? Did you think it rather a risqué comment? I always thought it was although I...

Yeah I have seen cherries being sold in stores, however I am not a big fan of eating cherries. I have tasted them and taste ok.

@jvicentevalera I like bananas too but lately I've had a couple that were very strange tasting. I think maybe they were picked too early then didn't really ripen properly.

@JudyEv Almost all of them, but my favorite one is bananas. Do you have a favourite fruit to eat?

WE can't buy them at this time of years in California, but when they are in season there is one lady that sells wonderful cherries in front of the post office as part of a fundraiser for her church. She's only there for about a week and then they are gone. They are always very tasty.
