Flavor of the Year - 2019

I was describing with @xander6464 - how I think of years now any more as flavors. For me personally, 2015 was fresh and exciting - what with graduating and a move 2016 was tough but also new and flavorful with the addition of many new friends and a band 2017 was dull since I don't remember most of it 2018 had a sparkling start and a difficult ending and I wonder what 2019 will bring -- hopefully something easy and tasty How do you think of the years gone by>? How did you celebrate New Years Eve and Day ? New Year's Eve I went to a dear friend's house. Well, it was just my friend and her husband. They had planned a much larger celebration ... but some people were sick and some people were working, still others didn't show up.... but yknow, that is alright. Quality time with quality people. (who also cook real well) New Year's Day was more of a challenge - dad was having a tough day, so we all were having a tough day. He did manage to settle down though, so happily it didn't last long. And today with God's help seems to be going fairly well. I may even get to go to my home for a whole day. Photo: Pixabay

I hope this year tastes like spaghetti. Nothing too fancy but tastes great and is very satisfying.

@FayeHazel Not creepy, just more sloppy lazy programming by the people who run the Matrix. Chocolate cake is great. The things I can't mention...I should send you some stories sometime that kind of illustrate them...would be even better but I would settle for chocolate cake.

Thanks! You want to know something - I was actually making spaghetti last night. Creepy huh. But I do tend to agree. Warm, tangy, comforting - not difficult, but so very satisfying. I hope yours is like chocolate cake. Or whatever else you like but can't mention

Do you have a home? (Just kidding) I know you spend a lot of time with your parents as their caregiver. I'm glad your father wasn't too difficult on New Year's Day. Things are good here.

My last few years were just OK, but not bad either. Last year was a bit busy for me, running from one workplace to another to help out emergency cases. I am hoping that THAT won't happen this year. Hope you have a wonderful year ahead.

I hope you get some time at home Faye. I am wishing that for you. I am glad you had a good time with your friend and husband and good food too. Glad Dads episode passed. I am just going year to year now Faye. I have not thought about how I would compare them to anything, but that is a good way of looking at the years.

I don't think much of the past in terms of the little stuff. I always remember the past in terms of the important things, the most fun memories etc. A new year is simply a new year, and when you look back on ANY year you can always find good things and bad things that happened during it. It's just life.

I suppose that's true. There is always good and bad to everything. I think you are wise to look only at the good (or mostly)
