On July 1,1937 Amelia Earheart and her flight navigated Fred Noonan left New Guinea, headed to an island called Howland which was 2,600 miles away. The next day a U.S. N baby vessel heard radio messages for her that said something about they were out of fuel. The plane and Amelia and Fred were searched for but never found. It was assumed that their plane went down in the water and they were killed. However in my opinion of the plane went down and the bodies were thrown from the plane, possibly eaten by sharks then the metal from the plane or luggage would of been found. Something does not sound right to me. It appears to me that they were possibly kidnapped. What do you think?

I watched the movie based on Amelia's story. She was an extraordinary woman at that time. I think it was an accident and nobody kidnapped them.

@dfollin At that time everything was not as advanced as today, so perhaps it was too difficult to find them. It is just like the Malaysia plane, it was lost but nothing more to be found.

Why should they have been kidnapped with the kidnappers not wanting money? It was problably an accident in the middle of nowhere.

They might of been kidnapped because they were both so smart and maybe it was another country that kidnapped them to prevent the USA from having their citizens from having such a successful flight. Who knows? People have come ip with weird stuff like that.

This episode explains everything
Directed by James L. Conway. With Kate Mulgrew, Robert Beltran, Roxann Dawson, Jennifer Lien. The Voyager crew discovers several people who were abducted during 1937, including Amelia Earhart, cryogenically frozen on a distant planet.

I read not too long ago, they think the plane crashed near one of those remote islands and they survived and lived out their days on the island. I forget where I read that possibility.
