Favorite Nike Hockey Goalies Commercials #7 - The Babysitter

Back in the 90's, Nike made a hilarious series of commercials revolving around "Former NHL Goalies" who were forced to work regular jobs after their weaknesses were exposed by NHL superstars wearing Nike equipment. I am counting down my favorite of those commercials. We are at #7: The Babysitter. In this one, a former New York Rangers goaltender has found a regular gig babysitting two kids because Theo Fluery, then playing for the Calgary Flames, had exposed the goalie's weak glove hand. He's bitter, but still great with the kids!

A babysitter who is somewhat bitter. I will actually prefer to babysit my kids by myself rather than going for someone like him.

That's kind of what makes it so funny.

These are great. I wonder who that goalie was. I didn't realize Fleury was that small of a guy, but I guess I don't know much about hockey before like mid 2000's.

@teamfreak16 I know that was kind of a weird thing to say on my part. Oh, I had no clue he played in Denver, good stuff. Dang, that's awesome, Joe Sakic is my all time favourite player! Even though I really watch/cheer for the Leafs, I'm also a pretty big Avs fan too, they're my "other" team, even though that might be kind of odd or whatever

Yeah, Fluery is a small guy. He played here in Denver for a couple years. Once, when he first got here, some star player from another team, I forget who, took a cheap shot at Fluery, and none other than Joe Sakic chased the dude down and dropped the gloves. It was only the second fight of Sakic's career. He won, too!

@mawdest - I finally remembered. It was Doug Gilmore. The guy that used to do the Avalanche games, Mike Haynes, yelled "How do you like those apples, Gilmore?" after the fight.
