Movies Where They Even Got The Titles Wrong

I love nit-picking movies, seeing the mistakes and things that just couldn’t really happen. The following movies even get their titles wrong. Abbott And Costello Meet The Killer, Boris Karloff (1949). Though Karloff is in the movie, he is not the killer. Alan Mowbray is. Abbott And Costello Go To Mars (1953) – They actually go to Venus. The Courage Of Lassie (1946) – The dog is clearly a male Border Collie referred to throughout the movie as Bill. Jurassic Park (1993) – All the featured dinosaurs are from the earlier Cretaceous Period. The Lost World – Jurassic Park 2 (1997), As with the first film, plus in taking place entirely on a preparation island (Isla Soma) nothing is seen of Jurassic Park itself. Jurassic Park 3 (2001) is also set on Isla Soma. Krakatoa: East Of Java 1969) – The famous volcano was actually West of Java. And Then There Were None (also released as Ten Little Indians) (1965). The second film adaption of the Agatha Christie story allows two characters to survive. The whole point of the story is that the entire cast dies. (Christie herself approved the altered version, as it was feared audiences find the ending too pessimistic at times). Arthur Chappell

Many do prefer the happy ending but I like the darker edged version

Most of the time the Novels by Agatha Christie are pretty different from the films released later. I have seen several version of "And then there were none", I preferred the old 1945 version to the one released in 1965.

I think you've found the lineup...As well as the theme...for a great film festival.

I think all of this just makes things so much more frustrating.

I didn't realize that the last movie mentioned was one of Agatha's books and that's weird that she'd allow the change. If the book was well read you'd think the watchers would expect the same of the movie itself. As for Jurassic Park, I didn't know there was an actual place, island with that name. In the Lassie one, are you saying that the cast during filming actually would refer to the dog as Bill? If so, that's very odd indeed, The abbott and costello was odd too. I wonder whether they didn't expect to actually get Boris as an actor and when he agreed it was with the option that his character not be the actual killer? Otherwise, someone lost their brain when coming up with the title for that one. Just saying.

@MarshaMusselman yes, the first, fourth and fifth Jurrasic Park films are set on an actual island theme park complex. The Lassie film is clearly about a male dog called Bill.

@MarshaMusselman There are five films so far - probably more to come too - the first is the only good one though

@arthurchappell I guess I didn't realize there are that many Jurrasic Park Films. I only was interested in the first one and maybe caught one or two others when my husband watched them at home, but I never sat down to join him on those.

Tyrannosaurus rex, Velociraptor,Stegosaurus, Triceratops were surely from Cretaceous period; it was later, not earlier.Triassic was the earlier.
